We understand that cost is a very real consideration for anyone deciding whether or not to seek legal advice, and in terms of who to instruct. Drummond Miller LLP has always tailored its services to families, individuals and small enterprises rather than large corporate entities, and our pricing structure reflects this.
Equally, no two instructions are the same. We can offer fixed fee quotes for some services e.g. property purchase and sale; simple wills; Powers of Attorney; simplified divorce – other services are charged at an agreed hourly rate. For these services, it is not possible to give an accurate or binding fee quote at the outset, but we can assist you with budgeting by issuing regular interim fee notes, so you can keep on top of costs incurred. Costs may vary depending on your individual circumstances and the complexity of your case, as well as the level of service you require. You can find more information about our fees for each service here:
In any given transaction, not every aspect requires to be handled by a senior solicitor – we always delegate as appropriate, under supervision, to a fee earner with the right level of experience for the task in hand so as to ensure the overall transaction is as cost-effective as possible.
We are always happy to have an initial ‘no obligation’ chat to discuss fee options prior to formal instruction. For some services, we may be able to offer Legal Aid to those who are financially eligible. Speculative (‘no win, no fee’) charging arrangements and Damages Based Agreements may also be available for certain types of litigation.
If you do decide to favour us with your business, we would then issue a formal Letter of Engagement in line with Law Society requirements – this would spell out the agreed basis for fee charging in your specific circumstances.
We look forward to hearing from you and hope to be of service.
